WHAT IS ISR?
ISR stands for Infant Swim Resource. ISR is the global leader in the industry it pioneered in 1966: survival swimming lessons for infants and young children. ISR Instructors provide the safest and most effective survival swimming lessons available. The ISR lessons students receive today is a product of nearly 60 years of research and experience to achieve unparalleled results each day in pools around the world. Today, ISR’s mission, “Not One More Child Drowns,” is the foundation of everything we do and is the driving force behind ISR’s employees, independent ISR Instructors, and major corporate partnerships. ISR believes the successful prevention of the leading cause of accidental death for children under the age of 4 in the U.S. will require a large group of caring and capable professionals whose sole focus is to save lives. ISR believes traditional approaches to water safety are missing a key component: the child. The hundreds of documented survival stories, are proof that children can, and do, save themselves. Children are curious, capable, and have an uncanny ability to overcome obstacles like pool fences; at ISR we take that ability and teach them skills that could save themselves if they find themselves in the water alone. The research based methods take into account the whole child integrating sensorimotor learning, behavioral approaches, emotional wellbeing, and the developmental readiness of each child.

"As a parent sitting from the sidelines, I was comfortable trusting Desiree with my child from the start. She takes her job very seriously and works with not only the child but the parent to ensure water comfort and safety. I would, without hesitation, recommend Desiree to anyone with children learning to swim!"

Hi! I’m desireÉ. I’m so Glad you’re Here.
Like many parents, I want to give my kids the best chance at a safe and happy life. For our family, ISR (Infant Swimming Resource) helped make that possible. After seeing my 2 year old nephew swim-float-swim independently across a pool, I had to enroll my own children. Only after watching the incredible process of my children becoming water safe did I discovered that drowning is the leading cause of death for children ages 1–4. 70% of drownings happen with an adult nearby. I wanted to be a part of the solution.
Through ISR, my 10-month-old daughter and 2-year-old son learned life-saving skills in just 10 minutes a day, five days a week, for six weeks. It was incredible to watch their transformation: from fear to confidence, and from tears to excitement. Not only did they learn to swim to safety, but together, we also learned they can do hard things. It was pure magic—and I want that for every child and family.
